Version 9.2.3


Alpha is a multimodal programmable text editor known on the Mac since the early 80's for its exceptional editing capabilities of TeX and LaTeX documents, Web pages in HTML, or source files for many programming languages.

Versions 9 and greater of Alpha are built over an entirely new core written in Objective C based on Apple's Cocoa framework and including the AlphaTcl library. It is an Open Source project hosted by SourceForge. It runs on Mac OS X 10.11 or greater (El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur).

Reporting bugs

It is essential that any problems and bugs be reported. The preferred way to do so is to use Alpha's Bug Tracker. This platform may also be used to make feature requests. Simple questions may still be asked using Alpha's Mailing Lists.
