Alpha is a multimodal programmable text editor known on the Mac since the
early 80's for its exceptional editing capabilities of TeX and LaTeX
documents, Web pages in HTML, or source files for many programming
languages.
Versions 9 and greater of Alpha are built over an entirely new core written
in Objective C based on Apple's Cocoa framework and including the AlphaTcl
library. It is an Open Source project hosted by SourceForge. It runs on
Mac OS X 10.11 or greater (El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur).
